The schedule for Portland’s Residential Infill Project to present proposed amendments to City Council has been delayed until 2018.In the meantime; the HBA will continue its ongoing coalition work to encourage the building of diverse housing options.
The project was created by former Mayor Charlie Hales and is charged with proposing how more diverse housing options (such as duplexes and triplexes) can be added to existing single-family neighborhoods. The HBA was actively involved in the process as part of a broad-based coalition working to address housing affordability for working families in Portland. Council originally was expected to begin considering the draft amendments this fall, but the proposed amendments will not be released for public review and comment until late September. The HBA is continuing to work with our coalition to ensure that we can deliver much needed housing options and choices in Portland.
