The Housing Forecast is an annual event where the HBA convenes key elected leadership, thought leaders, and renowned State and National economists to provide diverse discussion and insight on issues impacting housing and the economics of housing. We are pleased to announce that Oregon House Speaker Tina Kotek will be the keynote speaker at our 2018 Housing Forecast. Speaker Kotek championed pro-housing legislation during the 2017 legislative session, including House Bill 2007, which ultimately passed as Senate Bill 1051. This law creates a more efficient process for affordable housing and emphasizes the clear and objective standard requirements. She has also been an ally for the Home Builders Foundation this year, and supported their work to complete a major renovation at Community of Hope, a shelter for homeless women and children in her district.
In addition to Speaker Kotek, the 2018 Housing Forecast will feature insight and analysis from NAHB Chief Economist Dr. Robert Dietz and University of Oregon Economics Professor Tim Duy. They will discuss what 2018 holds for the housing market and our industry as a whole. They will touch on various aspects including economic and building issues, as well as trends and predictions related to different market segments such as multi-family, single-family, infill and remodeling. This is a signature event for Portland’s HBA, drawing more than 400 attendees from the industry as well as numerous government officials and staff. Check-in begins at 7:00 am. The breakfast and program begin at 7:30 am in the Portland Ballroom.
