The Home Builders Association of Metro Portland recently received the five Awards of Excellence they were recognized for back in May. Competing in the top size category, these awards reflect competition against some of the best HBAs in the country. The Metro Portland HBA has won more awards than any other of the 600+ HBAs in the country.
These five awards encompassed the wide range of work the HBA does for the building industry, including events and shows, communications, operations, and philanthropy. The HBA’s 2016 Winemaker’s Dinner and Tour of Remodeled Homes received recognition for Best Membership Event and Best Parade or Tour of Remodeled Homes, respectively, in the country. The Home Builders Foundation, HBA’s charitable arm, also received accolades for their annual work uniting paint companies, professional paint contractors, and volunteers to conduct a painting blitz of local homeless shelters. Two internal aspects of the HBA were acknowledged as well: a multi-faceted communication plan to better reach members on issues they care about, and a staff-driven group that meets regularly and works to promote a positive work environment and instill core values in the office culture.
