HBA members and staff met recently with the Mayor of Beaverton and other key city staff to discuss an array of issues developers and builders are facing and pathways to make Beaverton a friendlier place for the home building industry.
Mayor Denny Doyle gave the group an hour of his time to listen to the issues most important to our members, collaborated with our members and staff, and gave direction to staff on next steps. The group, known as the Beaverton Development Advisory Committee, has also been assigned a liaison by the city. Jerry Jones, Jr, a consultant with a long record of experience in private land development and construction, has been appointed to the Mayor’s office with direct access to the permitting and planning departments and will be looking for ways to make improvements to processes.
The Lake Oswego Development Advisory Committee will be meeting July 19 to work through issues our members our facing in the City of Lake Oswego.
