As Clean Water Services looks toward phase 2 of their update, HBA staff is working with members to provide feedback on implementation of phase 1 and meeting the new permit requirement to have hydromodification standards.
HBA has been working with Clean Water Services (CWS) since September 2016 when they began updating their storm water design and construction standards. Implementation of Phase 1 began in April, and CWS acknowledged HBA’s concerns and emphasized that HBA staff and members will be involved as phase 2 of public outreach for the update approaches.
Phase 2 of the update process will focus on meeting the new permit requirement to have hydromodification standards in place by April 22, 2019. This portion of the update process will undoubtedly be the more rigorous of the two and have a much more dramatic impact to the design and construction standards. CWS is beginning outreach for Phase 2 this summer and HBA will be working closely with them and affected members to collaborate on the best practices for implementation of the next set of standards. The HBA is currently working to schedule a meeting for its members with the lead staff at CWS for an update on the process and to voice member concerns. If you are interested in being involved in the process, or have any feedback on how implementation of phase 1 is going, contact James Adkins at email@example.com.
CWS will be hosting a Design and Construction Standards Update Phase 2 Kickoff Meeting on August 8th at the Shirley Huffman Auditorium Hillsboro Civic Center: 150 E Main St., Hillsboro, OR 97123, from 9:30am to 11:00am. We encourage all interested HBA members to attend. HBA staff will be present as well. More information on this meeting can be found here.
