The current proposal would jump up the charge from $2,017 to $13,459 per single family home in an area where market rate homes have been able to remain affordable for new home buyers.
The Chehalem Parks and Recreation District will be holding will be holding a public hearing on June 22 on their proposed Transportation SDC (TSDC) update. The proposal before Council would increase the parks district from $2,017 to $13,459 per single-family home and from $1,475 to more than $11,853 per multi-family unit. The parks project list totals $126,500,00 in project costs, including an $80,000,000.00 trail system and a $20,000,000.00 327 acre park.
The Austin family of Newberg recently announced the sale of property that will become the bulk of Newberg’s residential housing stock, however, this proposed increase could upturn any pro formas that potential buyers have, thus further disrupting needed market rate housing in the area.
