The HBA of Metro Portland will honor industry leaders and install their new board members at their annual gala, the Builders Ball
Portland, November 5, 2012 – The HBA of Metropolitan Portland will honor outstanding service in the industry and install their 2013 President and new board members at their annual Builders Ball on December 1. The event will celebrate a rising confidence in the industry while acknowledging the leadership of the 2012 HBA President, Gordon Root and the outstanding work of the board and membership. This year’s Ball will support the HBA’s foundation, The Home Builders Foundation’s HomeAid project for the Goose Hollow Family Shelter.
The HBA’s annual achievement awards review nominees on the basis of leadership in the industry, membership involvement and community service. The honors for this year are as follows:
Lifetime Achievement Awards for outstanding service include Tom Skaar, of Pacific Western Homes and Allie Edwards (posthumous).
This year’s Builder of the Year honor is awarded to Jeff Smith of JT Smith for showing excellent professional leadership at the HBA’s signature event, the NW Natural Street of Dreams as well as the Ultimate Open House and Reverse Trade Show.
The Associate of the Year award will go to Sherry Jordan of The Northwest Coaching Group for her extensive leadership on HBA communications, catering and education and her unflagging participation in HBA events and community volunteer opportunities.
The Remodeler of the Year honor will be given to Patrick Richardson of Murrayhill Remodeling for his support of the Professional Remodelers Organization (PRO) Santa House project, authentic business relationship style and representation of the PRO at the HBA’s Home & Garden shows.
The final award for Trade Contractor of the Year will be awarded to Thomas Adams of Classic Electric for his exceptional donation of time, expertise and materials to the Home & Garden show “Smart Home,” the NW Natural Street of Dreams, the PRO Santa House project as well as other HBA events.
